Snow

Today we are in the middle of a snow storm. School is cancelled, roads are closed, and we are all cozied up after a day of playing in the snow.

The snow that fell looked like the kind in a snow globe that has been shaken hard. Flurries that go in every direction. Do you ever feel that way when trying to decide what to draw? You go to catch an idea like a child trying to catch a snowflake. Their mouth is open and its like you are hung out with your mind blank waiting for the idea. Sometimes its best to scratch up something from the ground. Sometimes you give up, sometimes you are lucky.

Forming snow and being creative have a lot of similarities, the main one being persistence. For snow to come into existence it takes time. The ideas don’t all look the same. Some snow melts sooner than others. Some gets sculpted into new art, like a powerpuff girl snowman. Some gets rained on by pets. Some people love snow, some hate it.

Part of my snow day was spent experimenting with my own flurries in my head. I made a fun painting. One other idea which stuck was to launch a website. I am making use of the snow storm.

Welcome!
